GROUP NETWORKING PROGRAMME (GNP)
This is another micro-financing programme that operates simultaneously with the Chaithanya Samrambhakanidhi in the project villages of KSSS providing opportunities to SHG members to get loans at low interest rates. The loans are utilized for starting income generation programmes and the regular capital money pooled every month from the different groups at the central level serves as the source of the loans released.
SAVINGS AND CREDITS IN SELF-HELP GROUPS
As a basic SHG activity the group members pool small amounts as savings to become financially stable and taking loans from the money collected and by making everybody in that group self-employed. The group members use collective wisdom and peer pressure to ensure proper end-use of credit and timely repayment. The goal of this program is to promote savings- and credit activities, and to promote micro-enterprise development.
GRAMA VIKASANA SAMITHI
Grama Vikasana Samithi is the apex body which plans and executes various activities of KSSS programme with the aim of developing the villages and rural community. At present there are 80 Grama Vikasana Samithies operational under the thrust areas of KSSS. The operations are regionalized through Grama Vikasana Samithi. It is the apex wing which watches over the activities of SHG.
This is a Micro Credit programme of KSSS started in 2009 with the support from the National Minorities Development & Finance Corporation and Kerala State Backward Classes Development Corporation Ltd. The lending programme was implemented successfully in the 80 target villages of KSSS with an aim of increasing the income generation programmes among self help group members.
