When it comes to the Earth, there is no time to waste. It is a day to think about our planet and what we can do to keep it special; to think about saving water and energy, reducing pollution, recycling, protecting our animals, trees and plants, and generally getting kids interested in protecting their environment. To pay homage to mother earth, KSSS observed Earth Day with the SHG members of Kaipuzha and Edackat regions at Chaithanya. The programme was inaugurated by Smt. Anns Varghese (President, Athirampuzha Gramapanchayath). Mr. Sajo Joy (Professor, Social Work Department, K.E. College, Mannanam) took a seminar on ways to preserve earth and various methods in natural resource management. 140 villagers participated in the programme.  Earth Day is when people around the world hold events to honor our home planet and to remind everyone about the importance of our ecosystem. Trees help communities achieve long-term economic and environmental sustainability and provide food, energy and income.
