A    Workshop was conducted on 19th February for training the Field Extension Staff and preparing them for conducting Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) in the wards of Marangattupally Panchayath. The local extension staff would carry out the PRA so as to identify ‘water’ related problems confronted by people. The concept of PRA was discussed with practical exercises of making social map and resource map. Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) was understood by the participants as a tool for understanding the perception, knowledge, skill, practice, and situation of the farmer and also to enhance their participation as input in the program planning process.
