On the background of flood and rescue activities, one day training programme for voluntary workers was organized at Chaithanya Pastoral centre. Mar. Joseph Pandarasseril (Auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Kottayam) presided over the programme conducted by Social Action Commission of Archdiocese of Kottayam. He motivated the audience with his valuable words. Mar.Joseph Pandarasseril used the occasion to appreciate the relief activities which was done without any discrimination in the name of religion and caste. He said the audience to make use of all the services and packages announced by the Government to flood victims and also took special initiative to ensure that the services are reached to the most deserved.. Rev. Fr. Michael Vettickat (Vicar General and Chairman of Social Action Commission), Fr. Sunil Perumanoor (Secretary, Kottayam Social Service Society), Fr. Mathew Valiyaputhanpurayil( Assistant Secretary ,KSSS), Shri. George Kurian (Deputy thahassildar,Kottayam) supervised the training programme. As part of the training, a discussion about the scope of follow-up rehabilitation activities and preparation of action plan was done. Around 88 voluntary workers from different parish attended the training programme.
